Maureen Ghigliotty

Maureen Ann Ghigliotty of Longmont died at her home on December 10, 2013. She was 73. Maureen was born on September 30, 1940 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Lewis and Mary (Ridl) Tintera. Her family moved to Longmont in the 1970's where she met her husband Edwin Ghigliotty. They were married in Longmont on April 4, 1974. Maureen attended the University of Minnesota and was a teacher for a number of years. When she retired she volunteered for over 20 years at the OUR Center Clothing Bank. She spent the last 15 years of her life in selfless service to others. Maureen loved history, other cultures and spending time in the mountains. She and Edwin enjoyed four-wheeling in the mountains when they were there. Maureen was an avid reader and enjoyed working outside in the garden and on the house. Mrs. Ghigliotty is survived by her husband, her son Chris of Evans, CO, her daughter Maria Ghigliotty of Longmont and a brother, Elmer Tintera of Highlands Ranch, CO. A service to remember and celebrate Maureen's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home on Sunday, December 15. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services of Longmont. The family encourages attendees to share memories of time spent with Maureen.
