Maxine Genzlinger

Maxine (Moore) Genzlinger of Longmont died suddenly Saturday, April 20, 2013 at home. She was 91. Maxine was born December 25, 1921 in Burke, South Dakota to Arthur and Jennie (Ayers) Moore. She grew up in the Burke area graduating from high school, until moving to Denver in her early 20's. There she worked for The Denver Dry Goods Co. for a time. On February 14, 1944 she married Neil Genzlinger in Sioux City, Iowa and returned to the South Dakota area. She was a homemaker most of her life. In the early 50's they followed the construction trade back to Colorado, until 1975 when construction took them to Phoenix, Arizona. While living in Phoenix, Maxine worked for Beckman Industries for several years. She was very proud of her work and received honor while there. In 1997 when they retired they returned to Longmont, CO to be close to family. Maxine enjoyed her family, sewing, reading and making a home wherever she was living. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neil, her sisters Wilma Bisson and Florence Greer and son-in-law Paul Ogg. She is survived by a son, Duane Genzlinger (Sona) of Pierce, CO, a daughter Yvonne Ogg of Longmont, four grandchildren, Bob McLaughlin (Kristi), Debra Schoen (Kim), Dawn Rutt (Darrin), Andrew Genzlinger (Lisa), step grandson Jerry Ogg (Cari) and 8 great grandchildren: Alyssa Schoen, Chelsee Schoen, Taylor Schoen, Nickolas Rutt, Delany Rutt, Samuel Rutt, Parker Genzlinger and Cailin Ogg as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary. Inurnment will take place at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. A private family remembrance gathering will be held at a later date.
