Patricia CASIAS

Patricia Casias 65, of Longmont, died June 27, 2013 at her home, following a brief but courageous battle with melanoma. She was born on July 7, 1947 in Walsenburg, CO to Valerio and Talpita Martinez. On August 12, 1967 she married Leonard Casias in Loveland, CO. The couple then moved to Longmont to make their home. Patricia was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a homemaker whose hobbies included playing bingo, playing baseball, dancing and cooking. She will be fondly remembered for her delicious green chili. And, she loved the Denver Broncos. Survivors include her husband Leonard and her son Leonard, Jr. of Longmont, sons Brian Casias of Thornton, CO and Troy Casias of Tucson, AZ; daughters Donna (Jeff) Guerra, Julie (Anthony) Garcia and Carol Casias of Longmont and five grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers Bobby Martinez of Walsenburg, CO and Johnny Martinez of Louisville, CO. One sister Cleo Falsetta of Pueblo, CO survives. Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents and brothers Luther and Phillip Martinez and sisters Julia Surrato, Esmeria Romero, Fern Chavez, Bella Pino and Geraldine Greigo. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 at New Creation Church in Longmont. A Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
