Pryor Newton "Junior" Bell, formerly from Dacono died October 4, 2012 at his grandson's home in Gilcrest; at the age of 87. Pryor was born April 30, 1925, in Longmont, Colorado to Pryor N. and Jenny (Hinniger) Bell. During World War II
, Pryor served in the US Army infantry in the European Theatre. He returned to Colorado after his discharge. He married Kathryn Josephine Slinkard on August 6, 1945 in Longmont. The couple made their home in Rinn before moving to Dacono in 1954. Pryor worked for 42 years as a truck driver for Colorado Milk, later the Mountain Empire Dairyman's Association. He retired in 1992. Pryor enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. The Bells were fortunate to have traveled over much of the United States. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Steven Bell; two daughters: Sandra Derr and Debera Irwin; a granddaughter Mashelle Derr; three sisters: Evelyn Nicholson, Mary and Hazel Bell; and two brothers: Charles and Willis Bell. Pryor is survived by two sisters: Ruth Holmes of Colorado Springs and Stella Denning of San Diego, CA; daughter-in-law Patricia Bell of Brighton; son-in-laws Myron Adolf of Dacono and Robert Derr of Dacono. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Paula Padilla (Arthur), Kathy Edwards, Sheila Derr, Lisa Brooker (Tad), Kristi Colbert (Fernando) and Steven Bell (Ashley); nine great-grandchildren: Justin Padilla (Carrie), Derrick Sanders (Amber), Jeremiah "Bear" Padilla, Brandon Edwards (Leandra), Kaylah Edwards, Nicole Brooker, Natilie Brooker, Robert Espindola, and Ronnie Espindola; and several great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12 at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
