Shirley Reichenberg

Shirley J. Reichenberg, 79, of Longmont, died April 19, 2014 at Life Care Center of Longmont. She was born April 17, 1935 in Ogallala, NE to Lawrence and Irene (Jonson) Peres. She married Lowell Reichenberg on July 31, 1955 in Brule, Nebraska. The family moved to Colorado in 1957, living in Fort Collins prior to moving to Longmont in 1965. Shirley managed Elda's Fashions in downtown Longmont for over twenty years, retiring in 1993. She was active in both the Moose and the Elks Lodge, always being available to help with their social events. Shirley had a love for music and an amazing singing voice. Shirley will be remembered as a people person who always made time for and enjoyed her friendships. In her free time Shirley could be found writing poetry or enjoying time with her grandchildren and family. Survivors include her son Kirk H. Reichenberg and his wife Kelene and her daughter Kimberly J. Kuehn and her husband Gene of Longmont. She is further survived by her grandchildren Amber and Ashley Reichenberg, her brother Lyle Peres and her sister Donna Peres. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Lowell, her grandson Justin Reichenberg and one brother Lawrence Peres and one sister Elaine Browning. A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services. A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst Dr. Longmont, CO. 80503 Memorial contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, Colorado Chapter, 7951 E.
