Michael Warhola Obituary
Michael A. Warhola, 77, of Longmont died March 17, 2013, at Longmont United Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Vandling, Penn., on August 28, 1935, to Michael and Lillian Marcavage Warhola. Three days after his high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent 17 months in Korea. He was discharged in 1956 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Warhola attended Broom Tech College in Binghamton, N.Y., while working at Amphenol Corp. in Endicott, N.Y. In 1968, he was transferred to Colorado and became plant manager. In 1978, he resigned from Amphenol and co-founded Front Range Cable Corp., which he co-owned for 15 years. He worked for Sherwood Enterprises, then EMS, as plant manager, retiring in 2003. On May 17, 1958 he married Ann Dimun in Simpson, Penn. A devoted family man and community volunteer, Mr. Warhola was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion, Post #32. He also was a member of the Louisville Elks Lodge. He enjoyed reading, traveling to many countries, fishing and spending time with his family. His daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He also was very proud to be involved with the John Harold Buckley American Legion Post #32, where he served on the Honor Guard and for the past nine years was the Adjutant. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for 45 years. Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years, Ann Warhola of Longmont; his daughters Debbie Warhola (Rob Kelley) of Woodland Park, Colo. and Karen (Ted) Warhola-Golas of Westminster, Colo.; his grandchildren, Nathaniel and MaryGrace Kelley; and his brother Tom (Yvonne) Warhola of Newnan, Ga. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Warhola; and a nephew, Jeffrey Warhola. Visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary on Thursday, March 21, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Vigil Service will follow at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont with The Rev. Ron Weissbeck as Celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post #32 in Longmont.
