Betty Jo Warren Obituary
Betty Jo Warren passed away April 24, 2014 at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, CO. She was 81 years old. Betty was born on April 17, 1933 in Topeka, KS to Roy Thompson and Opal Thompson (Blair). She grew up in Emporia, KS. In 1950 she married Thomas William Warren in Kansas. Together they moved to Longmont in 1971 from Garden Grove, CA. Betty was extremely proud to have been able to work from home most of the time raising her 5 children while also keeping the books for multiple businesses. She was instrumental in the founding and operation of Warren Appliance, a local Longmont business for 38 years. Betty was an active member of the Longmont Chapter of the Women of the Moose, being very involved in helping maintain the records for the Bingo Committee, along with making many lifetime friends. Betty loved to read, especially mysteries, she loved working in her garden and growing flowers. She also spent many hours sewing and garage saleing for those special bargains. She was preceded in death by her parents. Betty is survived by her husband Thomas Warren; her sons Thomas William Warren, III (Bea), Gregory Owen Warren (Cathy), Richard Franklin Warren (Barb); her daughters Theresa Ann Lamkin, Cynthia Louise Steele (William); her brothers Don Thompson (Ingrid), John Thompson, and half-brother Richard Thompson; her sister Eula Rose Morgan and half-sister Patti Barett; her grandchildren Casey Renee Schluntz (41), Clint Steven Lamkin (40), Justin Wayne Lamkin (37), Sarah Louise Warren (23), Blake Thomas Warren (24), Samantha Kaitlin Steele (23), Jason Taylor (JT) Steele (20), Matthew Thomas Warren (24), Jack Ryan Warren (22), Danielle Huxtable (30); and her great-grandchildren Kelsey Marie Huxtable (15), Reese Daniel Huxtable (12), Mason Gregory Huxtable (9) Levi Cole Warren (4), Ashley Schluntz (23) Ella Lamkin (8) Kyla Lamkin (3). A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
