Geraldine Marie Cacala, 66, of Loveland, Colorado (formerly of Longmont), passed away Monday, July 1st after a long, brave and courageous 5 year battle with Cancer. She was born to George and Margaret Green on February 14th, 1947, in Johnson City, NY. Geri graduated from Maine Endwell Sr. High School in 1965. She moved to Longmont, CO in 1975. Geri retired three years ago to focus on her health and enjoy life with her family, friends and her home. She was a kind and giving Mother, a friend with whom so many cared for and was loved deeply by. She will be missed but not forgotten by all that she knew and those she touched in so many ways. Geri was a very social person who loved to host dinners with her friends and summer BBQs at her home. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and shopping. Geri loved to cook for family and friends and treasured the holidays and spending them with the ones she loved. Her first passion was gardening and taking care of her many plants and flowers. Geri had a beautiful garden filled with an array of flowers, plants, wind chimes and bird feeders.She worked very hard all of her life and was a dedicated employee. Geri spent the last 35+ years employed by the Longmont Police department, Ball Brothers, Codar Technology, A.G. Edwards and RE/MAX. Geri is preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Green and many loved ones that passed before her. Geri is survived by her two sons: Scott Cacala of Longmont. Eric Millard and his wife Debbie of Fort Collins,two grandchildren Easton and Logan, three great grandchildren Michael, Mason and Blake. She is also survived by one sister, Patricia Koscal of Longmont; four nieces, Danielle, Deanna and Darcy Koscal all of Longmont and Kimberly Green of New York. In lieu of cards or memorial flowers the family is requesting that if you would like to bring a perennial flower or plant they will plant them in Geri's garden at her home. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home.
