Victor Dallas Camp

Obituary

Victor Camp,64, of Longmont passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2012 at his home. Vic was born in Elk City, OK in 1947 to Silas and Aileen Camp. His childhood and school years took place in Springfield, CO. Victor married Judy Trahern in 1964 and they had two children. Vic worked alongside his father drilling water wells and in 1977 took over the family drilling business. Vic and Judy lived in Lamar for more than 15 yrs and ran Vic's Country Palace and the Chat and Chew. Their marriage ended and he was re-married to Patty Leathers for several additional years.

Vic has resided in Longmont, CO for the past 12 years enjoying life being semi-retired. He will be remembered for his contagious smile, laugh and the ability to always tell a good story. Vic had overcome many battles in his life and encouraged and tried to help others do the same. He loved playing cards, enjoyed water and snow skiing and taking trips on his motorcycle. His greatest joy was his family and spending time with his two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his children, Mitchell Camp of Boulder, Shaylene (Marvin) Rosencrans of Longmont. His sister Cindy Schrandt, nephew Jeff Schrandt of Phoenix and niece Heidi Simon of Kansas. Grandchildren, Logan and Luke Rosencrans.

A celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Victor Camp memorial fund c/o Carroll-Lewellen & Cremation Services, 503 Terry Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. carroll-lewellen.com
