Whittley Morrison Obituary
Whittley Arthur Morrison died January 4, 2013 at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville, CO. He was 76 years old. He was born at home in Buckeye Run, Martin's Ferry, Ohio on April 20, 1936 to Elizabeth Adeline (Turpin) and Arthur Dallas Morrison. After high school he served a tour in the US Air Force. Whit married June Morgan and they had one son, Whittley A. Morrison, Jr.; who preceded him in death. In 1965 after a divorce he married his high school sweetheart, Sandy. They have been married forty-seven years. He was hired by the Federal Aviation Agency and worked for the government for 35 years as a computer specialist. Upon retirement from FAA he was hired by Lockheed-Martin and took final retirement in 2006. His education included graduating from high school and earning a BA and Master's degrees from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Whit was a man of many talents and enjoyed them all; hunting, fishing, archery, photography, sailing and golfing. He belonged to the Columbine Lions Club and was a member of the Ute Creek Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, son Steven “Skeeter” Morrison, two daughters Leslie and Michelle Morrison, two granddaughters Alani Morrison and Lilly Moore and seven grandsons Ian Ames, Taylor Morrison, Evan Graham, Joshua, Jubal and Leif Dillon and Craig Morrison. Whit loved a joke and laughed a lot. Everything he did was done with gusto. He had a good life, was loved by his wife, family and friends and will never be forgotten by those who knew him. Memorial services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 1721 Red Cloud, Road, Longmont.
