Melinda Gale Spruiell Obituary
Melinda Gale Spruiell of Frederick, passed away on February 02, 2014. She was born on December 05, 1950 in Marysville, Kansas to Harold and Dorothea "Huesner" Kaump. In January 2001, she married her best friend, John Spruiell. Melinda enjoyed art and scrapbooking. She always had a passion for singing, anything from touring with Up With People in her late teens to karaoke and lullabies later in life. Melinda was a devoted and compassionate woman who made her family a priority. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She always made time to attend any sporting events or concerts that her family participated in. She was given the nickname "Gramarazzi" because of her love of taking countless photos of her grandkids. Her mother owned a pet store, which inspired her love of animals. As an adult, she worked in a pet store and encouraged the purchase of many exotic pets for her children and grandchildren. She had numerous pets over the years and is survived by her Chameleon, Lizzy and her Beagle, Toby. Melinda is survived and will be missed dearly by her husband, John; her daughters and sons-in-law: Melissa (Sorensen) and Cam Johnson and Vanessa (Sorensen) and Scott Riesselman; her son, Brandyn Sorensen; her step-children: Jonna and Tod Janet; Amy Gross; and Michael and Jamie and Erik and Kate Spruiell; her brother Ron (Rose) Kaump; sisters: Sherre (Arlo) Boda, Marcy (Don) Wiechman and Dori Spence; and her grandchildren: Hunter and Max Johnson, Mason and Ryan Riesselman, Jarek and Aleyna Sorensen, Hunter Spruiell, James Bostick, Jameson and Lucy Janet and Cavin and Ellis Spruiell. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home followed by a burial at Foothills Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to the ALS Association alsaco.org.
