Lee Brown, 78, of Longmont, died February 21, 2014 at Longmont United Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Lee was born on November 16, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Milton A. and Mary (Tuttle) Brown. While attending Jordan High School he joined the Utah Air National Guard. In 1957 he started working full-time for the Guard, where he worked for many years as a flight engineer, traveling all around the world. In 1971 Lee became an air traffic controller with the FAA. He continued as a part-time member of the guard and retired after 26 years of service. He and his family relocated to Longmont in 1986 when he was promoted to a supervisor in the FAA. On June 27, 1955 Lee married Gerilyn Brady in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six beautiful children. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting the needs of others before his own. He loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and shared this love with his family. Lee was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings, all of which he loved, including: ward clerk, stake mission leader, member of 3 bishoprics, member of 2 High Councils, temple worker, and Patriarch of the Longmont Colorado Stake. Lee is survived by his wife Gerilyn, and children Laura (David) Anjewierden of Sandy, Utah, Daron Brown of Lynnwood, Washington, LeAnn (Jeb) Dewey of Sandy, Utah, Jennifer (Dave) Moore of Boise, Idaho, Angie (Mike) Reed of Thornton, Colorado, and Alan (Shannon) Brown of Provo, Utah. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and by his brothers Ronnie and Merrill (Coleen), and sisters, Judy (Dave) Forsyth, and Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his siblings, Marilyn, Kathy Reams, and Chad.
