Betty Williams Obituary
Betty B. Williams, 80, of Berthoud, CO, went to be with Jesus on March 2, 2014. She was residing at Life Care Center of Longmont. Betty was born on October 21, 1933 to Minor and Maxine (Compton) Lavell and grew up on the family farm in Bird City, KS. Betty married Alvin D. “Duane” Williams on February 1, 1951 at her parent's home in Kansas. Betty and Duane moved to the Longmont area in 1986 and to Berthoud in 1996. She worked at the Dundy County Hospital from 1975-1985, and as a payroll clerk at Foothills Care Center now The Peaks from 1986-1990, and at Life Care Center from 1990 until her retirement in 2000. Betty's greatest enjoyment was being around her children and family. She enjoyed watching sports on TV especially the Broncos and the Rockies, which she was an avid fan of theirs' from the beginning. She attended the Friends Church in Benkelman, NE, for many years before she moved to Colorado. Betty was a very spiritual woman. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy O'Brien, 2 grandchildren, Christine Brown and Kevin Williams, her parents, and 3 sisters, Lodema, Leanna, and Carol (Renie). Betty is survived by her husband Duane, sons Ronald Williams (Patti) and Byron Williams, daughters Rhonda Bates (Jack) and Deborah Brigham, brother Eugene Lavell (Jessica) of Medford, OR, sister Naomi Osborn, Benkelman, NE, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation from 4-6pm, Thursday, March 6 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Friday, March 7 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with viewing 1-hour prior to service.
