Marilyn Adler Obituary
Marilyn C. Adler, 85, of Longmont died June 5, 2014 at Life Care Center of Longmont with her family by her side. She was born August 28, 1929 in Republican City, Nebraska to Richard and Ellen (Pratt) Schick. She would lose her biological Father when she was just four months old. She would be raised by, and would also call Richard Hill her Father. She grew up in Phillipsburg, Kansas, and moved to the Berthoud area in 1940. She met and married Donald L. Adler on November 27, 1949 in Loveland, CO. They would raise two children together. Marilyn enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing, playing the piano, singing at various events such as weddings and funerals. Marilyn's dream was to be an opera singer. Most of all she enjoyed being with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She is survived by her son, Jay (Penny) Adler of Hazel, SD; daughter, Candace Alps of Milliken, CO; Her grandchildren, Travis (Brandi) Alps of Longmont; Karey (Brian) Nygard of Berthoud, CO; Dakota (Lee) Nerison of Watertown, SD; and Jakeob Adler of Hazel, SD. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, Jadreanna Alps, Alexis Nygard, Haylee Nygard, and Jolene Nygard. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Frank Hill, and her sisters, Bonnie Kinneman and Betty Hansen. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Howe Mortuary with Cris Crisfield officiating. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont.
