Maximilian "Max" Stefanski Obituary
Maximilian "Max" Stefanski passed away on June 19, 2014 in Longmont, CO. He was 99. Mr. Stefanski was born February 11, 1915 in Silver Lake, MN. to Thomas and Veronica (Yanka) Stefanski. He married Fern Wanda Laabs. Mr. Stefanski served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Seabees and participated in the campaign on Iwo Jima. Max was an electrician for Rocky Flats, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, riding his Harley motorcycle, hunting, fishing and was a member of the Mead Fishing Club. Mr. Stefanski was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Fern on May 7, 1996 and nine brothers and sisters. Max is survived by two sons, Richard (Kay) Stefanski and Robert (Becky) Stefanski, two grandchildren, Jim (Debra) Stefanski and David (Nicole) Stefanski, and four great-grandchildren, Audrey, Weston, Christian and Andrew. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran Church. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Inurnment at Foothills Gardens of Memory cemetery.
