Bobetta Meglemre Obituary
Bobetta "Bobbie" J. Meglemre, 84, of Longmont, died June 28, 2014 at AltaVita Memory Care Center in Longmont. She was born October 28, 1929 in Fort Collins, the daughter of Dora Irma (Bewick) and Lee Earl Hanna. She attended Loveland schools and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. In 1947 she was the first Rodeo Queen of Larimer County. She married Joe D. Meglemre on January 2, 1949 and they lived on area farms until 1997. She worked at First National Bank of Longmont from 1965 until her retirement in 1988. In 1959 Bobbie received the Colorado State award for the Colorado Farm Bureau 'Good Citizenship Award' for the Boulder County Farm Bureau. In 1969 she received an 'Award of Merit-Certificate of Honor' for the American Institute of Banking. She was a member of the Nelson Road Baptist Church, Friends of the Library, Elks Ladies Auxiliary #1055, a benefactor of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and a past member of the Longmont Symphony Guild. She did some volunteer work for the Longmont Police Bureau in their records department. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, camping, and their cabin at Peaceful Valley. She also enjoyed traveling and music. Mrs. Meglemre is survived by one daughter Pat Shaver and her husband Gary of Broomfield, CO; two sons Dave Meglemre of Longmont and Randy Meglemre and his wife Linda of Berthoud; also two grandchildren, Scott Shaver of Aurora and Kristi O'Brien and her husband Kevin of Parker, CO and two great grandsons Colten Miles O'Brien and Corbin Dean O'Brien both of Parker, CO. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, Longmont. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Gerry Brock of Nelson Road Baptist Church officiating. A reception will follow the services in the Howe Mortuary Event Room. Burial will follow the reception at 2:30 p.m. at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Longmont Humane Society, Nelson Road Baptist Church or any organization of the donor's choice.
