Elsie Rose Obituary
Elsie Emma Rose, 93, of Loveland, Colorado passed away July 1, 2014 at Sterling House. She was born April 8, 1921 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Chris and Minna (Kort) Koepke. Elsie was raised in Blue Hill and graduated from Blue Hill High School. She married Ernest Rose in 1944. They lived in Hastings, Nebraska. In 1963, they moved to Longmont, CO and then in 1988, to Fort Collins, Colorado. Elsie worked as a secretary to the pastor at First Lutheran Church in Longmont and was the office manager at Waddell &Reed at the time of her retirement in 1976. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fort Collins. Elsie enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, potting plants and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 3 sisters, Erna Anderson, Eleanor Koepke, Elsie's twin; a brother Melvin Koepke and granddaughter Ann Shobe. She was a fine blend of strong character, humor and confidence. She had a beautiful smile and was a people person. Elsie is survived by her son Ron Rose of Denver; daughters Shirley Gonzales (Tom) of Berthoud and Sheryl Gould (Jerry) of Loveland; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 7, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 305 E. Elizabeth, Fort Collins, Colorado. Private inurnment at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries or St. John's Lutheran Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service in lieu of flowers.
