Jeanine Meyer Obituary
Jeanine C. Meyer (“Sheriff”), 54, of Boulder County, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Jeanine was born July 12, 1958 in Golden, Colorado to Maxine and Joseph Meyer, one of 2 children. They moved to Germany, where Joseph was stationed with the US Army, returning to Denver when Jeanine was 3 years old. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins loved to spoil her. Jeanine was cherished by all who knew her. She had a loving, happy nature (and a little stubborn streak). She moved to Boulder when she was 18, where she became part of a residential program where she met life-long friends, obtained the skills necessary to live on her own with roommates and began working in the community. Jeanine worked at Wendy's in Boulder for several years. She took great pride in her work. Jeanine was a people person and loved interacting with customers. In later years, Jeanine resided at Applewood Living Center in Longmont where she was twice named Resident of the Month. She had a great love for music and Lawrence Welk could often be heard coming from her room. During the week she enjoyed getting out in the community to attend the senior program at Community Link. Jeanine was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Maxine Meyer, grandparents Harry and Leona Prater, grandma Swiheart, uncle Gene Prater and aunt Mildred and uncle Bill Hagaman. Jeanine is survived by many people who loved her. They include the many friends at People First, Community Link's Senior Program, the loving staff at Applewood, brother Jeffrey Peter, cousin Sharon Tausan and her family, cousins Gary and Mike Hagaman and their families, loving friends and caregivers Bob and Diana Pearson and friend and guardian Cari Cole. Jeanine had the most beautiful smile and an even brighter spirit. She touched the hearts of everyone who came to know her. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 4PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, a reception will follow at the Chapel. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
