WESTGATE, Beatrice Priscilla April 11, 1921 - October 23, 2012 With family by her side, our dear wife, Mom, Granny and Great-Granny Bea passed away unexpectedly from complications resulting from a fall on October 14th. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Fred, Effie (nee Lidstone) and Bernard Howlett; step-mother Eileen, half-sister and nephew, Mildred and Warren Winnig, special life-long friend, Norma Hutt. Bea is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Fred, son Bob (Bunny (Sharie)), grandchildren Kyla (Craig) and Mark (Kara), great-grandchildren Roan and Breccan Spicer, Jacob and Ryan Westgate, sister Lilyan (Ray Hill), dear childhood friend, Mary Saruwatari; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. Bea spent her whole life in Victoria and was blessed to have life-long friendships with her elementary school chums (85 years) only three of the "old gang" remain. She and her brother ran a tea house in Goldstream Park. Bea's passions were baking, cooking, gardening, carpet bowling, curling, knitting with her knitting group and shopping every week with Norma. Special thanks to Dr. C. Jones and the Royal Jubilee Renal Clinic doctors and nurses for their excellent care. Thanks also to Dr. Burnett and the nurses on 6th Floor SW, Orthopedic Wing; Social Worker, Monica, who was a wonderful source of comfort and wisdom to us during Bea's journey home. Special thanks and hugs also to Nurses Sherry and Kelsea. Heartfelt thankfulness to our Rev. Rob Szo for his caring support and prayers at this sad time. A service of celebration will be held Friday, November 16th 1:30 p.m. at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 7921 St. Stephen's Road, Saanichton, BC, Rev. Robert Szo officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Mom's memory to the Royal Jubilee Hospital Renal Unit are gratefully appreciated.
