Albert John SELINA

SELINA, Albert John Albert John Selina died peacefully on March 1, 2013 in Victoria. He was born New Years Day 1932 in Dundee, Scotland. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sheena; children, Frances, Albert (Doris), Stephen (Jessica), Lorraine (David), Paul (Sandra); grandchildren, Kendrick (Joanna), Sheena, Chad, Ashley, Cody, Johnson, Brandon, Christy, Jackson, Evan, Spencer and great granddaughter Kiana. Many nieces and nephews in Scotland. Albert grew up in the Westport, excelled at school went on to university and became a dentist. He married the love of his life, Sheena in 1956. Albert joined the RAF and travelled with his young family to Singapore and Hong Kong. Once back in Dundee, decided to immigrate to Canada where with his friend Dave Phillip they started Colwood Dental group. Albert loved his family, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and a loyal friend. He could always be found giving advice to his kids, study hard, drive carefully, watch the drinking. He found great joy in spending time with his family and friends. Albert loved to golf, spent many hours honing his skills first at Colwood as one of the "Scottish Mafia" and later at Victoria as one of the "Daft Buggars", he separated many a man from a coin or two. Prayers will be offered in McCall's Downtown, corner of Johnson and Vancouver Streets, on March 6, 2013 at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Patrick's Parish, 2060 Haultain Street, on March 7, 2013 at 12:10 PM. Interment at Royal Oak Burial Park. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at VGH, first in Emergency and then on 6th Floor for their kind and compassionate care of Dad. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heart and Stroke.
