Enid Patricia MEAD-ROBINS

MEAD-ROBINS, Enid Patricia After a long and remarkable life Patricia Mead-Robins passed away in her 103 rd year on October 26, 2012. Born in Shanghai, the eldest daughter of five Donnelly children she is the last to survive. Schooled in China, England and Victoria Patricia graduated from the Royal Jubilee Hospital school of nursing in 1931 and became an excellent nurse. After her marriage to George (Jim) Mead-Robins they lived on James Island with their children Gillian and Patrick for over 25 years. They moved to Victoria when the CIL village closed in 1962. Patricia was the last resident to leave the island. Her passions in life ranged from gardens and the arts to science and books. She had an inquiring mind, a feisty spirit and a radiant smile that will long be remembered. Predeceased by her husband Jim, she will be remembered with love by her children: Gillian and Patrick (Sandi), Grandchildren: Glynis (Rod), Carla (John), Derek, Trevor, Ian (Darla), Owen (Ashley) and eleven Great Grandchildren, Special nieces: Kerry, Paddi (Brian) and nephews Denis (Lynne), Kevin (Jennifer), and other family and friends worldwide. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 2pm at First Memorial Chapel 4725 Falaise Drive. Deepest thanks to the staff at Sunset Lodge for their wonderful care and kindness. Flowers gratefully declined, donations in her memory may be made to The Salvation Army or charity of choice.
