Hilda May (Haslam) HANKINS

HANKINS, Hilda May (nee Haslam) Was born in Calgary Alberta, December 18th, 1920. It is with great sadness that we have lost an amazing woman on February 22nd, 2013. Hilda attended Sahtlam school and married Albert on June 18th, 1942. She was a member of the Legion and Women of the Moose. Hilda had an amazing spirit and kind heart. She loved to play bingo and cribbage with her homecare workers. She always loved getting out and seeing the world around her. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Annie, beloved husband Albert, and son Rodney as well as 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her children Lyn (Mike) Werhun, Anne (Herman) Underwood, Donna (Dick) Williams, Dean (Karen) Hankins, daughter-in-law Faye Hankins, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Platt, and her brother Marshall Haslam. Anyone who ever entered mom's home was welcomed with open arms. We will miss you Mom, and we will all think of you every time we go for ice-cream. Interment will take place at Cedar Valley Cemetery Thursday February 28th at 10:30am with tea to follow at Glenora Hall from 1-4 pm at 3660 Glenora Road, Duncan BC.
