John Cook

April 15th, 1925 - November 1st, 2012


John James Cook, 87, a.k.a. "Cookie" in Ontario & "Jack" in America, passed away Nov. 1, 2012 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital in Saanichton, BC. John was born on April 15,1925 in Fort William, ON. After serving in the Canadian Air Force during WWII, John worked as a Machinist & Engineer in various locations in Ontario & British Columbia and in the States of Florida, California, Oregon, Washington & Hawaii. He spent many years living, working, golfing & deep sea fishing in one of his favorite spots - Maui, Hawaii. John spent his last 18 years in Saanichton. Predeceased by son David, daughter Leanne Joy (Jojo) & wives Gertrude (nee, Carroll from Thunder Bay) & Geraldine (nee, Sanderlin from Alabama). John is survived by children, Juanita Hutchings (Ontario), Jack Cook (British Columbia), Shelley Santos (California) & Richard Cook (Oregon), 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren & former wives Diana (nee, Stephanuk from Thunder Bay), Martha (nee, Morgan from Prince George) & Rita (nee, DeBerry from West Virginia).
He will be missed.
No service by request, however at a later date we will honour Dad's wishes & return his ashes to Maui. Condolences may be eMailed to the family c/o JCook@AEBC.com
