Lenore Frances CLARKE

CLARKE, Lenore Frances 1914 - 2012 Lenore was born in Toronto, ON to Clifford (Cliff) and Josephine (Queenie) Corbett. She passed away peacefully at Arbutus Manor in Vancouver on November 9, 2012. Lenore married her dear husband Walter Ernest Clarke on June 28, 1941. For over 68 years they shared their deep love for each other and others, as well as rich and challenging experiences with living in isolated mining communities as well urban settings. Some of their happiest years together were spent in Victoria, BC. Lenore moved to Vancouver after her beloved Walter died (November 2009.) Caring for others was a significant part of Lenore's life. She volunteered with the Red Cross Society Blood Clinics and Meals on Wheels. She belonged to the Victoria Jubilee Hospital Women's Auxiliary for close to 30 years where she not only provided leadership as President, but also made hundreds of baby gowns for the Gift Shop. Lenore is survived by her three children - Heather, Paul (Patricia) and Douglas (Wendy); six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sister-in-law Helen Martin, two nieces and three nephews. If desired in lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Lenore's favourites were: Our Place, Victoria, BC; First United Church, Vancouver, BC; and Operation Eyesight International. A memorial service and reception will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 11 am.
