Martin Karas

March 26, 1950 - June 11, 2013

Martin Paul Karas, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, following a brief, but spirited battle with cancer. Marty was born in St.Boniface, Manitoba in 1950, the son of Dr. Eugene Karasewich and his wife, Corinne.

He helped build the Victoria Public Library, the Jubilee Hospital, Oak Bay Rec Centre, Save on Foods Memorial Arena, and many other public and private buildings throughout the city.

Marty was a dedicated gardener, landscaper, history buff and an avid baseball fan.

He will be fondly missed by sons Julian and Peter (Corinne Garlick), granddaughters Emma and Ivy, sisters Deborah Gross and Terry Karasewich , brother Carl Karas, nephews Devon and Paul Carriere, and close friend Terri-Ann Todd.
