Robert Keith (Bob) PIRIE

PIRIE, Robert (Bob) Keith 1932 - 2013 Bob died unexpectedly in the early hours of January 10, 2013 of a heart attack. Bob is survived by his devoted and loving wife Marlene; children, Robyn Spencer (Ken), Kevin Pirie (Marilea), Kelly Clarkson (Robert); grandkids, Kyle Spencer, Jared Spencer, Ashleigh Spencer, Jane Pirie, Conor Clarkson, Alexa Clarkson and great-grandchildren, Joshua Spencer and Mya Spencer. Born in North Vancouver, Bob was most at home in the great outdoors hunting and fishing. Straight out of high school Bob enlisted in the air force where he served as a flight navigator. This eventful career took Bob and his family to both the east and west coasts of Canada, California and Europe. Bob retired from the air force at age 45, settling in Victoria. Bob then enjoyed a second successful career as a stock broker, most recently at National Bank Financial, from which he fully retired just four years ago. Bob's primary passion in his later years was cruising. When he was not on a cruise he was planning his next cruise. Bob and Marlene had many happy adventures together on the seven seas. We take comfort in knowing that, despite his failing health, Bob had one last great hurrah, completing a 75-day cruise around the Pacific just before Christmas. The family would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of sympathy and support. There will be an informal celebration of Bob's life at his home on February 16th from 1 pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, we invite anyone so inclined to make a donation to Alzheimer's Canada at www.alzheimer.ca "> www.alzheimer.ca
