MARUS, Gail Diana (nee Bell) August 22, 1937-July 19, 2016 Surrounded by her loving family, Gail Marus died peacefully after a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by her admired husband Irvin John and survived by her beloved children Meghan (Harry), Brian (Stephanie), and Jennifer (Steven), her cherished grandchildren Samantha, Harrison, Henry, Wyatt, Frances and Edward, and her dearest canine companion, Lucy. Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Gail graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in social work. She enjoyed a successful career until she left it to raise her 3 children and focus on the job she was best suited for as Mom and Gran. Gail had diverse interests and talents. She had an unending energy for walking, took great pride in her six grandchildren, and had a keen eye for investing that she coupled with her encyclopedic understanding of the stock market. Gail also had a passion and an impressive faculty for bridge. Gail will be missed by many kind friends, including the nameless community companions who watched and waved as she and her loving dog Lucy walked the myriad of miles in and around Oak Bay. Special thanks to the caring staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Condolences may be made to the family at
