Mary Neve Obituary
Mary will be sorely missed by her three daughters, Sandra, Donna and Linda (Massey). Her support over the years in good times and bad will always be remembered and cherished. Mary was "Nanny" to grandchildren Edward John (E.J.) Dubedat, Darrin and Dennis Massey, Sheena, Andrew, Alex and Beth (Homer) Macaulay, Eric, Marc and Ryan Petey. A visit to see her was a treat, as she always had time to talk and play. A favourite for all of them was to play blackjack with her and their cousins around the kitchen table. Great grandchildren Cole and Ryan Sayers, Emlen and Gwendolyn Petey, Sam Homer, Ashlynn Dubedat, Wyatt, Mavrick and Monica Massey will also miss her playful, loving nature.
A third generation Victorian, Mary lived all her life in this city. This was broken only by three years spent in Red Deer Alberta where her husband, John, served during the war years. We are grateful that she raised her daughters to be strong and supportive of each other, and to understand that family and friends are the real treasures of life. She remembered and included everyone in family gatherings.
After her daughters left home, Mary worked in the members' dining room at the legislative buildings. In her retirement she enjoyed golf outings, bowling and travel. She traveled extensively with her three daughters, and enjoyed especially long and enduring friendships with her "bridge friends".
Mary was pre-deceased by John, after 65 years of marriage, and by her sister Nora Diewold and brother Christopher (Jack) Norton.
Friends and family are invited to a tea in her honour at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1155 Fort Street.
