Homer was born in Henry County, Indiana and passed away suddenly in Nanaimo, BC. He grew up in Florida and graduated from Southwest Miami High, class of 1969. He was a volunteer Firefighter and retired from Florida Power & Light. Homer recently retired from Lowe's in Murphy, NC from his "Hobby Job". He was a foster father to over 500 children. He was an Eagle Scout and has guided his grandchildren with his knowledge as they work to obtain the same honour. Homer enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and travelling. He was a wonderful provider for many and very special man who touched the hearts of many and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, children and step children, many foster children, sister, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and his dog "Bear". A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
