Vincent, Nick and Erin,
Patty was a beautiful person. The best of friends to many and truly my best friend. My family and I loved her and looked forward to every opportunity to get together for fun and laughter and good cheer and always good food and good wine. Patty had the gift of being able to connect with people and always made people feel cared for and valued. Her quiet strength supported many. She loved to laugh and always found a way to lighten anyone´s load. We had such fun. She was so smart and well informed and had the best taste in music and movies and food and wine. From dancing on the deck to cooking in the kitchen - good times with patty will be fondly remembered. Summers at the lake will never be the same without her joining us for fun and laughter, campfire chats and midnight swims. Even though we didn´t have the chance to be together in person as much as I would have liked our ongoing texts and phone calls kept our friendship strong. She was a wonderful role model for Katie, Jessica and Emily who often "channel their inner Patty". Her light shines in Nick and Erin who are so much like her and we feel blessed to count them as good friends along with Vincent. We share your sadness and offer our heartfelt condolences to you and also to Patty´s mom and to her sister Colleen and her brother Bob. I will miss Patty profoundly.

PK was a truly grand lady and a great poet. It was a privilege to meet her and talk with her at poetry readings and events at the University and around Victoria. She made so many of us writers feel like we were her colleagues and associates.
