ALLEN, Calvin Joshua It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Calvin Allen in Victoria on January 19, 2011. He was born in Blue Rocks, Nova Scotia June 29, 1913 and predeceased by his wife, Marjorie in 1997 and grandson, Greg in 1996. Calvin is lovingly remembered by his son, John of Calgary; Lynn (Ed) of Ottawa; sister, Marguerite of Lunenburg; cherished grandchildren, Kim (Kent) of Ottawa and Dan of Switzerland as well as great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to his nephew, Tony Sookocheff of Victoria for all his help. Great Cal, as he was known to his grandchildren, lived life well, long, happily and courageously. He will be missed by his family and his skating, dancing and condominium community. A celebration of Cal's life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street, on Tuesday, January 25 at 10:00a.m. with a reception to follow in the Holly Room.
