David White Obituary

WHITE, David Scott It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden death of David Scott White, in Victoria on July 16, 2006. Dave was the father of Jesseca and Sol and the grandfather of Bowen and Delphine. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. George and Delphine White, live in Ottawa. Dave was predeceased by his sister Judy. He is also survived by his loving partner, Joan Russow and her children and grandchildren: Maya, Lorick, Theona, Soren, Lily, Amelia, Sophia and Anise. Dave was born on January 20, 1947 in Winnipeg. He was truly an original and lived a full, adventurous life as an educator, artist, environmentalist, peace activist, humanitarian, musician, horticulturalist, writer and film maker. He and Joan loved the outdoors and traveled extensively throughout the world. He will be greatly missed by all. Dave's family and good friends are asked to join us for a memorial gathering, beach walk and pot luck dinner on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at 1230 St Patrick Street, Victoria at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Gallery of Heroes and Martyrs in Esteli, Nicaragua or a social justice cause of your choice is suggested. 271261

It is with a heavy heart I write this in rememberance of Dave. I first met Dave when he worked at Spectrum High School and then we worked together at Spectrum Job Search Centre. What I loved about Dave, was his wonderful sense of humour and ability to encourage people to think outside the box. He had a gentle soul and liked to laugh. He marched to the beat of his own drummer, shunning commercialism and mainstream ignorance. What I remember best about Dave is his relaxed approach to life, with innate knowledge that every moment is precious and life fleeting. He embraced good music and good times.

Dave, I did not think our last dance together at Nigel's would be our final. See you in Cuba!

Hello

My name is Jenna White Robinson.

I didn't get to know my uncle very well. My mother Judy white, David's little sister passed away in 1996 with the distance and sadness that came between David and his side of the family and my mothers passing we lost contact. It brings me so much saddness to hear this news. To my cousins Jessica and Sol.. I know what it's like so let's not let another death keep us apart. Let me help you both through this! Let David's passing bring us together.

I am with all of you that are hurting right now.

With all the love in the world...
