It's more than a dozen years since you died, my dear friend, and yet every few days I see or think of something that I want to talk to you about and you're not here. To say I miss you is simply not enough, but that's the limit of our words. I could always count on you, to be honest and kind in everything. You were so important to me.

Ken, Sam and Tom: My heart aches for your loss. I didn't know Denise well and yet I could feel the strength, kindness and wisdom that flowed from her to all who entered the sphere of her spirit. I thank your for choosing the White Eagle Hall. This location brings smiles and memories for me that will now be mixed with my memories of Denise. The photo is from Kelly's wedding and it speaks to me of the warmth and partnership your family demonstrates to the world. Warm hugs all around.

Denise. Thank you. Thank you for teaching me about mother earth. Thank you for teaching me how to fold egg whites. Thank you for letting me eat so many Sunday morning pancakes, into which the egg whites were folded. Thank you for introducing me to Irene's apple fritters. Sorry for the soccer ball in the loo practical joke! Thank you for carrying my dearest friend for 9 months and bringing him into the world. Thank you for teaching me about recycling. Thank you for providing endless opportunity for me to ridicule Sam as he washed plastic bags in his Maiden and Slayer shirts, (of course I now do this). Sorry for spending my bus fare on candy 30 years ago and trying to pass it off as lost (I was taught a valuable lesson). Thank you for letting me pick so many raspberries and pears. thank you for tolerating the antics of two relentless teenage metal heads. Thank you for making me a better person. With remarkable love and sorrow.

I was saddened to hear of Denise's passing. Although I knew her only in a professional sense, she struck me as a caring educator who deeply valued her role. On behalf of past and present Quadra staff & students, I wish to extend our deepest condolences on your sudden loss. She'll be remembered.

I knew Denise from many years ago when our kids used to play together on Morris dance excursions. Lovely lady!

Although I only had the pleasure to meet Denise once - at Sam's wedding - I was really taken with her lovely, original character. She was such a terrific person I could see where Sam and his brother Tom got many their wonderful qualities. She stood out from the crowd in the most charming way. I'm truly sorry for this sudden loss her family is experiencing. My thoughts are with you. Karen

Denise was always a compassionate and caring woman who loved her family and cared deeply about the planet.
She will be missed on many levels - big hug to everyone.
Memories of our lives as Sundance parents so many years ago creates such fond memories. Forever linked by that experience and our kids deep connection.
You were a good woman Denise and cared about helping the planet survive. Will try and keep up the work and remember you always.
