Myra passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional Hospital after a brief fight with pneumonia. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Lloyd (Vicki) and Wayne (Mary Ellen), many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Art, and all her sisters and brothers.

Myra was born in Victoria, where she lived until 2004, when she moved to Nanaimo (Nanaimo Seniors Village) to live closer to her sons. Myra was in the Air Force in WWII. She worked for the Municipality of Saanich and the School Board. She was active in the United Church Women Group with the Metropolitan United Church. She was also Matron at the Unity Chapter No. 84 of the Order of Eastern Star. She took care of a number of elderly neighbours, and volunteered widely at places such as Glengarry. Myra will be well remembered for providing flower arrangements for the Church. Myra loved travelling, visiting old friends in England and taking cruises to Alaska.

Funeral service and reception will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday January 26, 2013 at McCalls (Downtown Victoria) 1400 Vancouver St. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
