Evelyn Peach Obituary

PEACH, Evelyn Ethel 1912 2010 Born in Nanton, Alberta, the fourth child in a pioneer family of four boys and two girls. Her parents died in the flu pandemic following World War I and the family was raised by their Grandmother in Elkhorn, Manitoba. Evelyn completed her education there and trained as a Registered Nurse in Virden, where she met and married Archie Grant, before moving to Pipestone, Manitoba, where they raised son Jim and daughter Marilyn. She was predeceased by her brothers, dear sister Dorothea, and her beloved daughter Marilyn, as well as Kenn Jasper, her second husband. She leaves to mourn her husband, Jack, in Victoria, son Jim and his wife Mary, of Tisdale, Sask., and an extended family from coast to coast in Canada and overseas. Ev was a contributing member of every community in which she lived, as a care giver, curler, golfer, community and senior centre member and worker; wherever her skills and energies were needed. Cremation. No service by request. A gathering will be held in the Magnolia Room at the Wellesley, 2800 Blanshard Street, Victoria, on June 8, 2010, at 2.30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Victoria Hospice would be greatly appreciated. 591346
