George worked for the federal government as an ammunition's inspector for over 30 years and retired early at the age of 53. He enjoyed arts and crafts, clogging and socializing with friends but his greatest enjoyment came from square dancing with his lovely wife Jean. George and Jean were members of the "Rocking Squares" and "Country Cousins" clubs, and received many years of pleasure and friendships attending these clubs. George was very famous for his assortment of Hawaiian shirts - 17 in total. These shirts will remain apart of Berwick House as Jean has donated them to the staff to be worn on tropical night and picnic night celebrations. This will certainly ensure that his memory will be kept alive around the celebrations at Berwick House.
