George Gibson
December 3, 2007
I first made acquaintance with George thirty five years, or so, ago. He and I had a common interest in poetry, and in particular, "The Far Field" by Theodore Roetkhe. I read this poem to him at the beginning of our friendship, and last summer it was the last thing we spoke of together. We also shared an interest in the natural world and the philosophy of Buddhism. We pledged that if possible we will, in the infinite scheme of things, return as friends to continue with our fine relations.
George and I also share a love of fine dining which I will continue as I may, toasting him as long as I am able.
George had a wonderful bearing which brought me much happiness, and without which I would be much lacking. I am grateful to have known him and to have had many fine times together.
