SLUGGETT, Gordon Russell March 3, 1921 to December 28, 2012 After a wonderful and full life, Gord passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital with his family at his side. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend of almost 67 years, Dorothy (nee Brethour). He will also be missed tremendously by his two daughters, Leslie VanderHaegen (Charlie) and Judy Thomas (Len) and granddaughters Jenn Beeler (Ezra), Stacey Parsons and Kelly Daniels (Sean), great grandchildren Ava, Adrian and Evelyn. He is survived by his sisters, Phyl Shade and Myrtle Smith (Don), and sisters-in-law Dolly Sluggett and Eva Brethour. He was predeceased by his brothers Claude, Clare and Daryl and sister Muriel Knott. He also leaves many wonderful, loving nieces and nephews, too many to mention. Thank you for all your love, especially these last couple of weeks. We wish to thank Debbie Jaycox from "Nurse Next Door" who laughed and cried with us during Dad's final days at home. We don't know what we would have done without her. Also, thank you to the wonderful nurses at 4 South at VGH who went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations, if desired, may be made to the SPCA.
