BUCKLEY, Greta Marilyn (Sinclair) March 9, 1925 May 14, 2012 Marilyn passed away peacefully in the presence of family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a consummate hostess and organizer, a thoughtful, loving friend to many. She had an unerring sense of style and was gifted in her creativity. Her husband Clair predeceased Marilyn in August 2011. Marilyn was born in Saint John, N.B. and was raised in Halifax and later, Saint John. There she met and married Clair her high school sweetheart and they had more than 65 wonderful years together. Clair and Marilyn formed many lifelong friendships in Montreal, Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa and Victoria. As they moved around the country they nurtured their ever-expanding network of friends. Marilyn had a flair for organizing and entertaining and bringing new and old friends together, creating many memorable occasions. Both Marilyn and Clair were life long volunteers in community service. Marilyn will be deeply missed by children Alison, Alan (Lorna) and David, grandchildren Kristen and Matthew, sister in law Verne; brother Alan Sinclair predeceased Marilyn. Marilyn also leaves many members of the extended Buckley and Sinclair families as well as friends from the Maritimes to the west coast. The family offers heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at James Bay Centre, My Caregivers and Dr. Ross McKay. Memorial service will be Sunday, May 27, 2012, 12:30 pm at St. Michaels Church 4733 West Saanich Rd. Marilyn's beautiful smile would light up her face and the faces of those around her. Clair made it his mission to see Marilyn smile or giggle every day. She loved to see babies laughing, she loved to have fresh cut flowers in her home, she loved to have her family surround her.
