CARTWRIGHT, Harold William January 29, 1919 - June 21, 2012 Harold was born in Winnipeg, MB. He passed away peacefully with his loving wife Ann, daughter Gail, son Brian and daughter-in-law Shelley at his bedside. He is predeceased by his mother and father Adeline and William, and his brother William (Bill). He is survived by his sister-in-law Barbara, nephew Alan and niece Diana. He attended St. John's College School in Winnipeg and spent the summers at Victoria Beach with his family. He served with the Canadian Navy from 1940 to 1945 and met Ann Murphy in 1947. They were married November 8, 1947 and had two children Gail and Brian. Harold and Ann moved to Victoria, BC in 1980 and spent many happy years together with family and friends. They loved their cruises and took many throughout the years. Maui was another favorite destination. Their most memorable times were spent at Victoria Beach, MB sharing time with family and friends. He belonged to the Winnipeg Badminton Club and the Wildwood Club for many years where he enjoyed badminton, tennis, golf and curling. He continued to curl for many years at the Victoria Curling Club, Victoria. His other great passion was sailing and boating of all kinds. The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria General Hospital for the kind and compassionate care provided to our very dear father and wonderful husband of so many years. He will be dearly missed by his wife and family, as well as all who knew him.
