HATTER, James September 13, 1921 - May 19, 2012 Jim passed away peacefully on the 64th anniversary of his wedding to Olive who predeceased him on February 15, 2009. Jim is survived by his three sons David, Ian and Bruce, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great granddaughter and many friends. After completing his education with a Ph. D., Jim became BC's first game biologist and held positions including Chief Game Biologist and Director during a long career with the Fish and Wildlife Branch. Jim was a lifelong hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the pursuit of these activities into his 91st year. In his retirement years Jim could also be found on his trap lines, teaching trapping courses, guiding hunters on Sidney Island, consulting on wildlife management and authoring two books. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3931 Tudor Avenue, Victoria, BC on June 16, 2012 between 1 and 4 pm.
