CLELAND, Jean Bulinckx December 24, 1918 - January 16, 2013 Jean slipped peacefully form this world surrounded by family. Born in Bristol, England, she immigrated at the age of 3 with her parents and grandparents to a farm in Cherry Creek. She came with her family to Victoria in 1924 which was home until her passing. An accomplished pianist and singer, Jean brought the joy of music to many. She worked with the Greater Victoria Nursery School for many years first as a teacher and later as Director. There was however nothing more dear to Jean than family. Married to John Bulinckx in 1940, she raised 4 children and was his soul mate until his death in 1984. She married Robert Cleland in 1986 and lived happily with him until his passing in 1991. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son Michael. Jean is survived by her daughter Nina (Bruce), sons David (Leeanna), Robert (Debbie), 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren all of whom adored her. An active and vital member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican church for many years, she will be remembered in a memorial service held there on February 9, 2013 at 1pm. A reception celebrating her life will be held in the church hall following. Thanks to the staff and volunteers of Saanich Peninsula Hospital's Palliative Care unit for the care and kindness shown to Jean and her family. A kind, wise and gentle person, Jean will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
