WALLACE, John Alfred December 28th 1922 - July 18th 2012 After a few years of deteriorating health, John passed away peacefully with his loving companion Marie-Louise Meursing at his side. Son of the late Hubert and Gwladys Wallace, John is survived by daughters Sherry, Nicola and Janet, grandchildren Dylan, Selena, Stephanie, Michelle, Cassie and Shannon and the mother of his children, Doreen. He was predeceased by his son Peter, daughter Libby, brother Stuart and wife Brenda. John is also survived by his sister Shirley, cousin David and several nephews and nieces. John spent his entire business life in the Wallace Family shipyard business - Burrard Drydock Company Vancouver and Yarrows Shipyard Victoria. His activities in the Victoria community included serving as Campaign Chairman of United Appeal, 1963 and President of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, 1973. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shaughnessy Golf Club (where he was a life member) at a later date to be announced.
