WOODS, May (nee Shuttleworth) April 14, 1924 - October 4, 2012 Born in Rochdale, Lancashire, England, to William and Minnie Shuttleworth. Predeceased in November 2011 by her husband of 64 years, Albert (Bert) Edward Woods. Survived by her loving daughter, Gloria (Mike); one sister and brother in England, Hilda Rawlinson and Albert Shuttleworth. May, along with her husband and daughter, immigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled in St. Jean, Quebec until 1963 when they decided to move out to British Columbia where the weather was more like the British climate they were used to. They lived in Vancouver for two years where they managed their own business then in 1965 they moved to Tahsis, on Vancouver Island, where May worked in the Tahsis Company office. Eventually they moved to Victoria where May enjoyed working for Jefferies Silversmiths from 1969 until her retirement in 1983. Mum travelled to many parts of the world with Dad. They loved their cruises and trips to Reno and Las Vegas. She was always a very friendly person who had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. Mum, you were the best mother and friend a daughter could have. You will be missed every day and loved forever. Our sincere thanks to the staff at Glengarry Hospital who took excellent care of Mum for the past two years. No service by request.
