STUHLSATZ, Patricia Catherine June 29, 1921 - August 29, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, teacher, musician and friend. Patricia was born in Medicine Hat, AB to Patrick & Tillie Coleman. She grew up in Milo & Arrowwood, AB, completing her teacher training at Calgary Normal School. Patricia began teaching in Rainier, AB, where she met & married Jack Stuhlsatz. Pat & Jack farmed for several years before moving to Calgary in 1956 with their children. Patricia taught school in Calgary & retired in 1978, moving to the Duncan, BC area where she & Jack resided until returning to Alberta in 1990. After Jack's sad passing in 1993, Patricia moved to Victoria, where she was an active member of the Monterey Seniors Centre, playing piano for Sing-A-Long & playing bridge. Patricia was a wonderful pianist, classically trained, & could also play almost anything by ear. Next to being with her family, Patricia was happiest at a bridge table with friends. She resided happily at the Wellesley for the past 2 1/2 years where she enjoyed playing the piano for the choir & especially enjoyed the camaraderie of her Wellesley friends. Patricia is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters, John (Myrna) of Airdrie, AB, Michael of Calgary, Suzanne Palmer (Don) of Victoria, Donald (Edith) of Fairview, AB & Sandra Peebles (Don) of Victoria, 2 nieces & 3 nephews, 13 grandchildren, & 8 adorable great-grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by 2 sons, Jan in 1979 & David in 1984, her sister Marion in 1982 & her beloved husband Jack in 1993. The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Crofton for his wonderful care of Mom & also the Victoria General & Royal Jubilee for the loving care & compassion Mom received while in the hospital. Patricia was a courageous & spiritual person who lived her life with integrity & kindness. She will be missed by all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place & a Memorial Service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 2 pm with visiting one hour prior at the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra St. Interment will take place at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery, Calgary. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be sent to the Royal Jubilee Patient Care Centre, Royal Jubilee Hospital (250) 519-1750 in memory of Patricia Stuhlsatz.
