Peter Jackson Obituary

Peter passed away peacefully on March 7th in Victoria, BC. Born in Hong Kong, Peter's family moved to Canada and settled in West Vancouver where Peter was raised. After graduation, he began a successful career in radio broadcasting, moving to Winnipeg in the 60's where he achieved fame as PJ the DJ. Peter returned to Vancouver in the early 70's and settled in Deep Cove. He partnered in a broadcasting school and later, built a successful career in real estate. Peter loved travel, cars, meeting people and driving. He fell in love with Mexico and spent winters in Todos Santos on the Baja and later in San Jose Del Cabo. Peter was the life and soul of dinner parties where he entertained with tongue-in-cheek tall tales and true life stories. He loved making people laugh and is fondly remembered by many friends and family members, too numerous to mention. He is survived by his wife Jiehua Morrow, her son Ben, his first wife Diane and their son Peter Jr. and his spouse, Darlene. He is predeceased by his previous wife Nori. A celebration of life is to be held at the University of Victoria Interfaith Chapel on Sunday, May 28th from 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM at Parking Lot # 6, off Ring Road, 3800 Finnery Road, Victoria, BC, V8W 2Y2. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a favourite charity.

Peter was a card. I worked with him in Deep Cove at Saxton Realty, Dianne also worked in our office. So many hilarious adventures and he could sell a concrete brick to a drowning man. Loved him, miss him sorry to have found out about his passing 8 years ago. God Bless

PJ was an early driving force in the early days of Al and the Silvertones that morphed into the Guess Who. He a fellow CKY DJ, Dennis Corrie, were powerhouses in the rock days of Winnipeg.

I met Peter when he was running the National Institute of Broadcasting in Vancouver, circa 1971. He was a great storyteller, and very kind and helpful to a young DJ wannabee. Thank you for your encouraging words,Peter. Rest in Peace,Sir.

I knew Peter when he ruled the Winnipeg airwaves and introduced number of bands to the public vis the HiFi Club when he broadcast live from an Winnipeg teen dance. I remember him blowing into town with his customized Studebaker that froze because no one told him about antifreeze. This photo was taken the at Glenlee Teen Canteen when he met Al and the Silvertones that became The Guess Who.
