BALL, Raymond George In loving memory of Raymond George Ball April 6, 1920 – February 7, 2013 Beloved husband and soul mate of Edna Ball. Edna went to be with Jesus Sunday January 15, 2012. Ray is survived by daughter Lorraine Neargarth and her husband William; son Wayne Ball and his wife Patricia; and brother-in-law Norman Richards. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Sandy and Clint Neargarth; Steven Ball and wife Ann and Christy (Ball) Scott and husband Blaine and great granddaughter Chloe Paige Scott. During the 2nd WW, Ray served in the Navy and was decorated with seven medals for his exemplary service. After the war Ray worked for the Post Office as a letter carrier here in Victoria. Ray later joined the RCAF and was transferred to Holberg and Comox BC, Torbay NF, Summerside PEI and Penhold, AB. After he retired in 1970 and returned to Victoria, Ray became very active in Mission Trips around the world helping to construct schools, clinics, churches and anything else that needed to be built. If someone needed help, no job was ever too big or too small. Ray was "Your Man". A strong supporter of missionary endeavors where ever there was a need; A "Man after God's own heart." Many thanks to the staff on the second floor at Aberdeen Hospital for the exceptional care they gave to Ray; a kind and gentle man. A celebration of Ray's life will be held at Glad Tidings Church, on Wednesday February 13th at 12:00 pm. A reception will follow in the church auditorium. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Victoria or Sharon Francis, Christian Ministries to Central America.
