JENKINS, Ronald Family man, athlete, volunteer, pianist, public servant. Ron Jenkins died May 28th after 60 years of devoted love for his wife Dorothy. Proud father of Dr. Catherine Jenkins and Joy (Paul) Connelly. Ron was born in Manchester in 1923, travelled round the world as an accordionist with the Royal Navy before settling in Vancouver – the most beautiful city he had seen. He worked for 38 years for the City of Vancouver, refereed juvenile soccer for over 30 years, entertained at dozens of clubs and nursing homes, and excelled in running, boxing, billiards, and tennis. A small memorial service will be held in July. Those who knew Ron are encouraged to write to Dorothy at Douglas House, 50 Douglas St., Victoria, V8V 2N8.
