HANN, William Charles (Bill) Passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, after a sixteen-month battle with brain cancer. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, and his little treasures Alexander, 6, and Samantha, 4, as well as his Mum and Dad, Lavinia & Bob, sister Joelle, Maureen's parents, Dianne & Terry, and her sister, Mia, and family. Bill was born in Victoria on June 8, 1975, and the family moved to Salt Spring Island six weeks later. Bill attended elementary school on Salt Spring and later moved to St. Michael's University School in Victoria. Following graduation, Bill attended Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. After university, Bill learned to fly, then flew floatplanes in the Queen Charlottes, before going to the Maldives for six months. On his return to Canada, Bill flew with Harbour Air, Central Mountain Air, and then achieved a life long dream of flying for WestJet. Bill was hardworking and professional, yet always eager to help anyone in need, friend or stranger. His friendliness and wonderful, dry sense of humor made him friends wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. No flowers please. Donations, if you wish, should go to St. Michael's University School Annual fund (year of 1993), West Jet Pilots Association fund, Christ Church Cathedral School Bursary fund, or the BC Cancer Society, all of whom have been incredibly supportive through this difficult time. A Celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 18th, 2012 at Oak Bay United Church on Granite and Mitchell Street.
