Raymond passed away on February 24,2012 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in his 93rd year. Ray was born and raised in Victoria before joining the Army in 1940. In 1945 he settled in Nanaimo and joined his uncle to work at Yale Shoe Store, eventually becoming a partner with Fred Hunter. Ray was connected with The Nanaimo Rotary Club and was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church.
His interests included gardening, badminton, fishing and travel.
Predeceased by his brother Reg of Victoria.
Ray leaves to mourn his loving wife Elsie of 68 years, son Gary (Louise), daughter Lynn (Michael), granddaughter Leah (MIke), grandsons Cory (Alison), Chad (Laura), Clinton and 4 great grandchildren.
The family thanks the 6th floor staff of NRGH and Dr. A. Lane.
A private service will be held for family.
In lieu of flowers donations if wished may be made to NRGH or St. Paul's Church towards their many community projects.
